About Teddy Bears Picnic
Teddy Bears Picnic Children's Centre is a licensed, non-profit childcare centre serving families in Creemore and surrounding area. Director Shannon Hatherley, RECE, leads a small, dedicated team of qualified educators and a cook who prepares meals on-site. Our play-based program is organized around dedicated age groups so every child gets the attention, pace, and care that fits where they are. We communicate with families through HiMama, where daily reports, photos, and updates are shared in real time.

Each program is tailored to where your child is developmentally — from first steps to tween independence.
Sr. Toddler / Jr. Preschool
~2 – 3 yearsA bridge between the toddler and preschool rooms — more structure, early circle time, and lots of room to explore, climb, and create.
Preschool
~3 – 4 yearsPre-literacy, early numeracy, art, music, and plenty of guided play. Children build school-readiness skills through curiosity and creativity.
School Age
4 – 12 yearsCare for kindergarten and school-age children — before- and after-school care, full-day care on PA days and breaks, and a summer program with field trips and outdoor play.

Shannon Hatherley
Director, RECEMy name is Shannon, and I began my journey with Teddy Bears' Picnic Children's Centre in 2005 as a toddler teacher. In 2008, I was fortunate to become the director of this wonderful centre. Along with our dedicated team of educators, I work hard everyday to ensure that each child enjoys a fun, happy, healthy, and nurturing learning environment where they can grow and thrive. Outside of work, I am the proud mother of a son and daughter, mother-in-law to a wonderful daughter-in-law, and grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter. Educator, PreschoolHello, my name is Deserai. I graduated with Honours from the Early Childhood Education program at Georgian College in 2017. I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages and am dedicated to creating a caring, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and supported. I have been providing loving care and educational experiences at Teddy Bears since 2019 and am grateful to be part of such a wonderful community. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Luke, and our daughter. We love being outdoors, hiking with our dogs, and making the most of family adventures together.

What ages do you accept?
Children 12 months (once walking) through 12 years old.
Are you a licensed daycare?
Yes — Teddy Bears Picnic is a fully licensed non-profit childcare centre, inspected regularly by the Ministry of Education.
Do you provide meals?
Yes. Our cook Carolyn prepares nutritious meals and snacks on-site daily. Menus are shared with families. [Please contact us for specific allergen and dietary information.]
What is your sick-child policy?
Children must be fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours before returning. We follow Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines for contagious illnesses. Full policy is shared with families on enrolment.
How do you communicate with families?
We use HiMama (by Lillio) to share daily reports, photos, menu updates, and messages with families in real time. It's free for parents to download.
